Rough loss for the Indians in this one, Free State jumped on em early and never held back. The loss drops North to (1-4) on the season, and they will face Olathe Northwest on Thursday October 6th. Free State improves to (4-1) and win their 4th straight game. Free State will face SM East next Thursday in what could be a big game as far as the Sunflower League standings are concerned.

2:05 4th- Free State just running out the clock now. Keeping the ball on the ground and giving some backups playing time.

3:47 4th- North going for it on fourth down. 4th and 17 from the Firebird 26. Finnazo sacked on fourth down, turnover on downs for the Indians. Free State takes over at their own 38 yard line.

5:40 4th- After a five yard carry by Burrows, North has it 1st and 10 from the Firebird 15.

8:11 4th- Billy Carr breaks free for a 16 yard run. Indians have it 1st and 10 from the Firebird 48.

9:30 4th- Kyle McFarland continues to kill North tonight. He breaks a 40 yard touchdown run to add on the blowout.

1:10 3rd- North can't get anything going offensively. Forced to punt, Free State will start at their own 31.

2:38 3rd- Nick Finazzo now the quarterback for North after the injury to Ryan Theis. North has it 1st and 10 from their own 44.

3:49 3rd- Free State can't convert on a 4th down try. North takes over at their own 13 yard line.

5:25 3rd- Free State running all over the Indians. Firebirds have it 1st and 10 from the Indian 18.

6:24 3rd- 4th down for the Indians 17 for the Indians at their own 28. Ryan Theis is injured on the play, and it's not looking good. He was helped off the field favoring his left ankle. Free State will take over at the Indian 49.

A kid just ran across the field with his shirt off. Cops now chasing him, never seen that before at a North game.

7:55 3rd- Indians stall on the opening drive, forced to punt. Free State now has it 4th and 4 from the Indian 30 yard line. McFarland hits Patterson for a 30 yard touchdown pass.

:00 2nd- North runs another reverse and picks up some yards, but can't find the end zone.

:04 2nd- North will have one last shot at points before the half. North has it at the Firebird 31.

:42 2nd- On 4th down Theis hits Maynard for 33 yards to pick up the first. Indians have it 1st and 10 from the Firebird 27.

1:20 2nd- North offense showing no urgency. They continue to try and run the reverse. Still no sign of Mason Perez in this one, you wonder how bad the injury is still bothering him. On third down Theis gets sacked for a loss of 5. North will have it 4th and 15 from the Firebird 45.

2:17 2nd- North D steps up again and forces a Free State punt. North will start at the Firebird 40 yard line.

3:32 2nd- On fourth down, Ryan Theis drops back to pass but is hit hard and fumbles. Free State takes over at their own 25.

5:16 2nd- After back to back reverses by the Indians, they have 2nd and 1 from the Firebird 14.
6:26 2nd- Sean Wilkes of North comes up with a huge interception. North will take over at the Free State 42 yard line.

7:57 2nd- North offense cant string anything together. Another three and out for the Indians. Decent punt, Free State will begin at their own 48 yard line.

9:29 2nd- North finally forces a punt. North will take over at their own 35 yard line.

10:59 2nd- Free State continuing their impressive offensive performance. McFarland is destroying the Indian secondary. Free State has it 1st and 10 from their own 47.

:37 1st- After a great start the Indians fall apart. Theis tries to hit Burrows for a touchdown, but Free State intercepts it. Free State takes over at their own 11.

1:27 1st- Matt Maynard breaks a 52 yard run, and the Indians will have it 1st and 10 from the Firebird 12.

1:45 1st- After a few false start calls on Free State they have it third and 20. On 3rd down Free State quarterback Kyle McFarland breaks free on a QB keeper. He goes 65 yards for another Free State touchdown. Not looking good for North.

4:46 1st- North forced to punt. Free State takes over at their own 33.

5:14 1st- After a first down, the Indians are now faced with a 3rd and 13 from their own 33.

7:15 1st- North will take over at their own 24 yard line.

7:21 1st- Free State strikes again. McFarland hits Tye Hughes for 27 yards on the touchdown. Free State takes a big lead here early. Story here will be how the Indians respond, we saw them get down last week 20-0 and come back to within 7.

7:48 1st- North goes three and out. Knighton returns a North punt, Free State takes over at the Indian 46.

9:42 1st- On 4th and 3, Free State decides to go for it. Ryan Patterson takes it 26 yards for the touchdown. North defense struggling early.

11:45 1st- Free State starts the game with a bang, McFarland hits Patterson for a 31 yard pass. Free State has it 1st and 10 from the Indian 31.

12:00 1st- North will kick off to start the game. Knighton and Patterson back for the Firebirds. Short kick returned by Calloway Schmidt, Firebirds will take over at their own 31 yard line.

Welcome to the SM North blog, tonight we are live at Lawrence Free State high school. Let me tell ya, if you haven't seen the new Free State stadium you need to. This place is absolutely amazing.

Free State is coming into tonight with a (3-1) record, led by Junior quarterback Kyle McFarland, and Senior running back Shawn Knighton. Last week Free State seemed to click as they crushed SM Northwest 42-7.

North is headed into this game with a (1-3) record. After a disappointing loss last week against SM West, the Indians will look to rebound here tonight. North is led by Senior wide receiver Mason Perez, and Senior quarterback Ryan Theis.
