Week 7 Picks

Last week  4-2    Season 29-7

Leavenworth @ Lawrence:  Lawrence looks to be one of the top teams in the state standing at 5-1 on the year.  Facing a new Leavenworth team that's looking for it's second straight playoff birth.  Should be a great game with a ton of talent, but Brad Strauss will be too much for the Pioneers.
Adams Pick: Lawrence

Wyandotte @ Lawrence Free State: Both teams come into this game sitting at 5-1 on the year and for Wyandotte it's the first time in 25 years the Bulldogs won their conference.  Can Wyandotte compete with the top ranked team in 6A?
Adams Pick: Free State

Olathe Northwest @ Olathe North:  Should be a great battle between two teams searching for momentum to start off districts.  This game is almost a must win for both squads if they want a chance at a playoff birth.
Adams Pick: Olathe North

Olathe South @ Gardner Edgerton: Edgerton running back Traevohn Wrench made a bold statement in the preseason stating that 5A was tougher than 6A.  Wrench and his teammates will have to back that statement up tonight facing defending 6A State champs Olathe South.
Adams Pick: Olathe South
* For a full recap of this game check back tomorrow

SM East @ SM Northwest:  After being shut out 28-0 by Free State last week the Lancers will be ready for Northwest tonight.  I think Darling will put on a show against the Cougars and East will cruise.
Adams Pick: SM East

SM North @ SM West:  Last season the Indians hung with SM West and nearly pulled off the upset.  This year I think it will take a near perfect game from North to come close to an upset tonight.  All Vikings in this one.
Adams Pick: SM West

BV North @ Olathe East:  East is on the verge of having their first season under .500 in twelve years.  If the Hawks want to avoid that they'll need to beat a 1-5 BV North squad to start districts.
Adams Pick: Olathe East

Game of the week:
SM South @ BV Northwest:  I think the winner of this game will win this district.  South hasn't reached 5 wins since 2000, but Gabe Guild will have his fellow Raiders ready to roll tonight.
Adams Pick: BV Northwest
