2001 SM. South (1-3) At SM. North (3-1)

Sept 28th, 2001-

The Indians had high hopes coming into this season. With the tandem of WR Nathan Winslow and QB John Martin, the Indians were going to be hard to stop. They entered this game on a three game winning streak, with the only loss coming to Olathe North. The Raiders had only one win coming in. This game was over quick, as Martin and Winslow stole the show. The Indians won the game 55-28, with huge nights coming from Martin who threw for over 400 yards and 5 touchdowns, and Winslow who had over 250 receiving yards. The Raiders had a few big plays in this game as well, as Tim Barger had two touchdown passes.

2000 SM. North (3-1) At SM. South (2-2)

I will start recapping SMN vs SMS games from 2000 all the way up until Friday when the Indians, and Raiders will meet.

On Sept 29th, 2000 The Indians invaded SMS stadium to meet the Raiders. This was by far considered to be one of SMN's greatest teams, with guys like John Martin, Nathan Winslow, and Brad Fayard. The Indians came into this game on a 3 game winning streak, and only one loss to Olathe North. The Raiders came in on a two game winning streak, including a victory over SM. Northwest. The Raiders only had one highlight in this game, with a 79 yd touchdown run by Adam Stephens. The Raiders were quickly over matched by North who won the game 34-10. Brad Fayard stole the show with a 25 yd touchdown catch, and 2 rushing touchdowns. The Indians went on to win 5 more after this, and eventually fell to Olathe North in the Kansas 6A State Semifinal game and ended the season 9-2. The Raiders went on to win districts, and meet Olathe North in the first round of the playoffs. The Raiders finished the season 5-5.
