Week 7 Top of the Crown

1. Lawrence Free State 5-1:  The Firebirds made easy work of Jordan Darling and the Lancers.  Game of the year upcoming with Lawrence in week 9.
2. Lawrence 5-1:  Lawrence has a great chance at claiming a Sunflower League Title this season, can they hold on down the stretch?
3. SM East 5-1: East should be able to at least finish 2-1 in districts.  The big challenge will be a showdown with SMW in week 8.
4. SM West 5-1:  See SME above.
5. Olathe South 4-2:  South got back on track with a blowout win over SMNW last week.  Will this momentum carry over in district play?
6. SM South 3-3: Gabe Guild was no match for Lawrence but the Raiders should look competitive in a weaker district.
7. Olathe East 2-4: Jeff Meyers may have turned the corner for the Hawks with a big win over Olathe North.  Same district as SMS and East should fair well.
8. Olathe North 1-5:  The Eagles showed some promise while holding OLE to 14 points last week.  Up next is Gardner Edgerton to open district play.
9. Leavenworth 3-3:  Leavenworth can't be happy with their remaining schedule as their opponents have a combined 15-3 record.  Can the Pioneers pull a few upsets and make back to back playoff appearances?
10. Olathe Northwest 2-4:  The Ravens have momentum on their side currently with a two game winning streak.  Up next is a city showdown with Olathe South.
11. SM Northwest 1-5: Northwest will have a rough time trying to slow down an angry SM East squad this week to kick off districts.  Best chance for a win will be next week in the Hula Bowl against SM North.
12. SM North 0-6: Will the Indians get a win in 2012?  Up next is a tough battle with fourth ranked SM West.

1 comment:

  1. Gabe Guild no match for Lawrence how about his 120+ yards in the first half. He only saw the ball about 6 times after that.
