1. Lawrence Free State 7-1: Free State had no problem with Leavenworth on Friday winning 47-14 to clinch a spot in the playoffs. The Firebirds will now face off with Lawrence High in a game that will decide a district champion, and the Sunflower League champion.
2. Lawrence 7-1: Like Free State the Lions had no trouble in week eight as they beat Wyandotte 57-16. For this weeks info look above to LFS.
3. SM West 7-1: West owned the fourth quarter against SM East on Friday night leading them to a 31-14 victory. Credit the Viking defense for the win as they shut down East quarterback Jordan Darling most of the night. Up next will be SM Northwest and with a win, West will clinch at least a share of the Sunflower League title.
4. SM East 6-2: The Lancers are now in a must win situation after falling to West last week 31-14. East must beat SM North this week and hope the math adds up if SM Northwest finds a way to beat SM West.
5. Olathe East 4-4: Olathe East is clicking at the right time and the Hawks have already clinched a spot in the playoffs. A win this week over SM South would give them the district title and a top four seed in the playoffs.
6. Olathe South 5-3: Olathe South will battle Olathe North this week with a playoff spot on the line. South survived a 34-31 scare last week against Olathe Northwest in an elimination game.
7. SM South 4-4: A banged up Raider team did what they needed to do and came away with a 21-19 win over BV North last week. Up next is a must win game against Olathe East. If the Raiders beat Olathe East they'll have to hope they win by more than BV Northwest, or that the Huskies fall this week to BV North to make the playoffs.
8. Olathe North 2-6: This season hasn't exactly played out the way North fans would hope, but the Eagles still have a shot at the postseason. It's simple for North, beat Olathe South and you're in.
9. Leavenworth 3-5: The Pioneers wont be in the playoffs this season, but a win over Wyandotte would give them a 4-5 finish which would be their best since 2004.
10. Olathe Northwest 2-6: Northwest was three points away from stunning, and eliminating defending state champs Olathe South. With the loss the Ravens season will end this week in a final game with Gardner-Edgerton.
11. SM Northwest 2-6: What can be better than crushing your cross town rival by 28 points? Not only did NW beat SM North 42-14 last week, but the Cougars kept their playoff hopes alive. Up next is a tough game with SM West in a must win game for Northwest.
12. SM North 0-8: The Indians will face SM East this week in the annual "Nut Cup" game. If the Indians take a loss and go 0-9 it'll be the first win less season for North since 1985.
