Last Week: 7-1 Season: 36-8
Thursday Night Games
Olathe East @ BV Northwest: I think the winner of this game will win this district. BVNW looks to be the better team, but don't count out Olathe East around playoff time.
Adams Pick: BVNW
BV North @ SM South: The Raiders are playing in a must win game against a team they should beat. Look for Gabe Guild to have a big night as South should prevail.
Adams Pick: SM South
Friday Night Games
Game of the week
SM East @ SM West: Both teams come in 6-1 and both are looking to win this district. A win tomorrow night should seal the deal for one of these squads and also keep hopes of a Sunflower League Championship alive. I think Jordan Darling will be too much for SMW.
Adams Pick: SM East
SM Northwest @ SM North: In the annual Hula Bowl the Cougars and Indians will hook up in a game that features two teams at the bottom of the Sunflower League this season. Look for a motivated SMN team that's not only looking for their first win of the season, but also looking for their first win against SMNW since 2001. *Thanks to Kevin Booker for the history of the series.
Adams Pick: SM Northwest
Olathe South @ Olathe Northwest: Both teams are coming in 0-1 in district play needing a win to keep playoff hopes alive. After seeing South play Gardner-Edgerton last week, some South fans were pleading for more pass plays. We'll see if the they try to throw it more this week or stick to the run game. Either way I think South is just too much for Northwest.
Adams Pick: Olathe South
Gardner-Edgerton @ Olathe North: One thing we've learned early on in the playoffs is to not overlook Gene Wier. The Eagles easily beat Olathe NW in week one of district play, but a tougher challenge awaits in the form of Traevohn Wrench this week. Wrench who rushed for over 300 yards last week against South will look for another big night this week.
Adams Pick: Gardner-Edgerton
Lawrence Free State @ Leavenworth: Leavenworth was able to hang with Lawrence for a half last week, but with that being said I'd bed Free State took notice of it. I think Free State will cruise yet again setting up the game of the year next week.
Adams Pick: Lawrence Free State
Lawrence @ Wyandotte: After seeing Free State destroy Wyandotte last week, I have no hope for the Bulldogs in this one. Brad Strauss should make things easy for Lawrence as they'll look to go 7-1.
Adams Pick: Lawrence
