Week 8 Top of the Crown

Lawrence Free State 6-1: Free State had no problem crushing a 5-1 Wyandotte team 49-6 on Friday night.  Up next could be a trap game with Leavenworth before the big City Showdown with Lawrence.
2. Lawrence 6-1: Lawrence struggled in the first half with Leavenworth in a 46-26 win.  Up next is Wyandotte, a team that Free State had no problem with.
3. SM West 6-1: The Vikings looked dominate in a 58-0 win over SM North.  Up next is the Shawnee Showdown with SM East. Will the Vikings defense be able to handle Jordan Darling?
4. SM East 6-1: East pounded SMNW Friday 34-7 on Friday night.  Up next SM West in what could be the game of the year.
5. Olathe South 4-3: Olathe South had no answer for Traevohn Wrench, the Falcons are now in a must win situation to make it out of districts.
6. SM South 3-4: The Raiders had the game in hand but too many mistakes cost them a shot at being 1-0 in district play.  Up next is 1-6 Blue Valley North who shouldn't provide too many issues for South to handle.
7. Olathe East 3-4: After beating BV North 31-14 Friday night the Hawks are on a two game winning streak.  Up next is BV Northwest in a showdown that will likely be for a district championship.
8. Olathe North 2-5: After a rough 1-5 start to the season, Olathe North is one upset win away from making the 6A playoffs.  A showdown with Gardner-Edgerton and running back Traevohn Wrench await North this week.
9. Leavenworth 3-4: The good was that Leavenworth managed to hang 26 points on Lawrence, the bad was they gave up 46 and fell 0-1 in district play.  Things don't get easier this week as LV will host the number one ranked team in the state in Free State.
10. Olathe Northwest 2-5: Ravens will be in a must win battle with Olathe South this week in a game where the loser will likely be eliminated from making the playoffs.  Can the Raven passing attack handle a tough Falcon defense?
11. SM Northwest 1-6: The annual Hula Bowl will likely be a competitive game this season as 1-6 SMNW takes on 0-7 SM North.  Both of these teams are hungry for a win, and in a very tough district it'll probably be the last chance for a win.
12. SM North 0-7: See SMNW above.
